Welcome

Here, I share my research, reflect on my teaching, and document my journey as a scholar and Latina woman living between Georgia, NYC, and the Dominican Republic. This blog brings together my professional and personal experiences—the questions that shape my research, the lessons I learn in the classroom, and my thoughts on navigating academia as a Latina scholar.

I grew up between New York City and Santo Domingo, DR, but my academic journey has led me through many regions, institutions, and communities. Over time, I have realized that scholarship is more than just seeking knowledge—it is shaped by place, culture, and lived experience. Now that Georgia is one of my homes, I often think about what it means to build connections across different places and identities.

In this blog, I share my research interests and current projects, hoping to make my ideas and questions easy to understand. I also write about teaching moments from the classroom, teaching methods that matter to me, and how students keep changing the way I think about learning. For me, teaching and research are closely connected and always influence each other.

This blog also gives me a place to think about academic life as a whole. As a Latina scholar, I often consider issues like representation, belonging, and mentorship. I want to add to conversations about why diverse perspectives matter and why it is important to create spaces where many voices and experiences can grow.

This blog is both a record of my journey and an open invitation to others. It is a place where I reflect on scholarship, teaching, community, and identity. Whether you are a student, researcher, educator, or simply curious about how academic knowledge and lived/embodied experiences intersect, I hope you find something here that speaks to you and encourages further conversation!
